	This semester, our fifth-grade after-school students participated in weekly ICL video sessions every Wednesday. Teachers and the university companion prepared simple topics such as hobbies, school life, snacks, and festivals to guide student sharing. With teacher support, students used short English scripts along with drawings, photos, or real objects. Taiwanese university companions also helped with translation when needed, making communication clearer and helping students feel more confident. Our German companion introduced himself and his culture with photos and slides, sharing German school life, food, and festivals. Students enjoyed asking questions and found the exchange interesting. Overall, the program improved students’ practical English and increased their international and cultural awareness.
